I was just wondering because you said you couldn’t understand the local broadcast language.

I know that India has about 14 languages, but thought you may be an American expat because your English is VERY good.

Actually we are ethnically East Indians and our language is supposed to be Marathi . However Marathi has not been spoken in our family for two generations . My parents studied at Catholic schools where they were educated in English with local languages as a minor so they did not study it in detail. So they only spoke to me in
English . I will not understand in great detail the radio broadcasts because I do not have a good command of either Marathi or Hindi .
