Rots of ruck.
The official Japanese line regarding the early 1940’s is “war, what war?”
When a Japanese friend stayed here for a year back in 1986, I took him to downtown Cleveland to go on the USS COD tour . . . a submarine that had a bunch of Rising Flag stickers on it from the Jap subs that were sunk in WWII. He was somber but found the tour very interesting. I asked him if they have any veterans clubs like we have here in the U.S. He said that the WWII was something they don’t like to talk about and, no, there are no veterans clubs . . . they’re all ashamed of the results . . . don’t talk about it much in schools, books, or newspapers . . . like it didn’t happen.
First an apology, next reparations—these could be reasons why Japan won’t acknowledge.
