“Not My DawG!!!”...
Pit Bulls have, like all terriers, a tendency to agression. Add to that their large size and strong jaw muscles, and you have a potential problem if the dog comes from bad stock or has not been socialized or has been abused.
Having said that, there are very very many people who have these dogs - Pit Bull is not a real breed name - but Staffordshirte Terrier, etc, whi have found them faithful, loyal, protective and reliable companions.
Clearly the officer here acted correctly. HOPEFULLY, the indiviuals who owned this animal will be identified and PUNIHSED severely enough t deter them from having any dog again. They are irresponsible and criminal.
Who needs cops to slay a dog? That s... don’t float around here.
I have a fresh one in the compost pile....
“The dog was walking toward him, so he didnt have a choice
What, just walking, not running or lunging? Didn’t the article say the officer was driving? Couldn’t he get back in his car and call animal control? It doesn’t at all sound to me like he had no choice. Then again, I’m not as prone to violence as cops.
Good shooting but he should have got him the first time.
If the dog posed an imminent threat to the cop or someone else it should have been shot. Pity cops don’t act similarly when it comes to gang bangers.
Pit Bulls in my neighborhood all have had very short lifespans. Rottweillers too, just haven’t been as many of those as we’d like to see. Under the cover of night, a silent weapon, swift and deadly. Whack!
