Yeah, but McCloskey won the next four election cycles after his “84 “win”. He clubbed McIntyre in the much-hyped re-match in ‘86 (political re-matches seldom live up to their hype), and was coasting along until the Gingrich juggernaut derailed him. The lesson is that ‘Rats are very, very hard to dig out once they get entrenched in office. If Franken steals this one, we’re going to be stuck with this clown in the Senate for a long, long time.
