“cops do not read suspects their rights when they are arrested. biggest hollywood myth ever”

They had better do it in California or the arrest won’t stick.

cops are required to read Miranda when 2 requirements have been met:

1. arrest.

2. interogation regarding the crime for which they have been arrested.

simply arresting someone does not require them knowing their rights about silence if you are not asking them to speak.

but i am sure california has its own rules. do they read Miranda in spanish?
