Ok, help me out here.
Our youngest daughter was born in Canada. We lived on the border, and chose a Catholic hospital about an hour from our home, because they were the only one in our area that would allow father in the delivery room. (This was back in 1971)
So, she had dual citizenship, and didn’t declare for the US until she needed to, sometime around her 21st birthday. Is she eligible to be President?
She is one smart, organized and talented cookie, and very conservative, so I know she would be a good one!
No, she is not eligible to be POTUS although she is a citizen, she is not considered natural born! Sorry!
She’s a woman, so she’d be sworn into the office regardless of what the Constitution says because the diversity gestapo has to make sure that we get a woman President now that we’ve gotten a black one. And so on for Hispanic, Asian, etc. The Constitution/rule of law means nothing; the important thing is diversity!
I assume at least one of you was a US citizen? If so, she is a natural-born citizen of the US. I'm actually surprised she is considered a Canadian citizen, AFAIK, Canada does not grant citizenship based solely on birth in that country, but I could be wrong. I doubt she had to even pick one citizenship, as dual citizenship is legal under US law.
