I love Corvettes and I love my 2006 dearly.
An American icon.

Hopefully somehow they will keep making them.
But of course with the impending AL Gore-ification of the economy, perhaps it is better it dies at the top of performance then be dumbed down into gutless enviro-mobiles.

I wouldn't worry. Vettes are one of the vehicles they make good money producing, similar to Silverado pickup trucks. GM is quite profitable overseas. For a time, they may have to make stuff outside the US, but I don't see the demise of the legendary Corvette. If nothing else, they can shutdown everything else and just make Vettes and trucks and turn a profit. Those are two things GM is quite good at.
