‘Show Us the Plan,’ Pelosi Says

Robert Schroeder reports from Washington:

Democratic leaders said Thursday there is no deal on aid yet for the Big Three U.S. auto makers, and asked the chief executives of those companies to return to Congress with concrete plans on how they would use federal funds to turn their companies around before getting any money from Washington.

“Until they show us the plan, we cannot show them the money,” said House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D., Calif.) at a press conference. ‘Until they show us the plan, we cannot show them the money.’

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nevada, and Pelosi said Ford Motor Co., General Motors Corp. (GM) and Chrysler LLC should submit a plan by Dec. 2. Reid said Congress would return the week of Dec. 8 if lawmakers get plans from the auto makers that would return viability and sustainability to the industry.

The vote-crazy liberals WILL bail out the Big-3 union pension programs, because that is really all they care about. Be damned with capitalism.

Enjoy the false show.

Chapter 11. It would save the auto industry in America. The bailout will eventually kill it.

“Until they show us the plan, we cannot show them the money,” said House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D., Calif.) at a press conference.

The democRATs must not be getting any traction trying to blame Bush for the lack of help for the Big 3.

Yes, but isn't this real problem, who will bailout the GM customers? That's the part liberals always forget to see.

" The democRATs must not be getting any traction trying to blame Bush for the lack of help for the Big 3.'

That's what has me puzzled. Why aren't the Democrats pouring money into Detriot's big 3? This is right up their alley to give money away to unions. Something is up.

There's no public support for it, and the rats know it. They have to find a way to do this and deflect any criticism to the GOP.

The democrats want to do this while Bush is still the president. That way, when it fails the Republicans can share the blame for the failure and the spending.

Hold off Republicans! Make Oboma do this! Just say no. Wait it out. It's a win/win for Conservatives that way.

Mail your bills to Congress. I mailed an Exxon bill to the WH. Of course there was no response. Maybe if Congress got millions upon millions of peoples’ monthly bills it would wake them up. I doubt it but it’s worth a try.

All I know is if they bail out the Big Three and they’ve already bailed out the banks, I want the home building industry bailed out, too.

The left wing media, the powers of the air, are losing their touch. Their "imagined" or "subjective reality" is no longer working on the minds of the American people.
People have seen through their disguise. and are not not falling for the liberal medias "illusions of truth" any more.

Indeed. And don’t they have a pretty big majority in congress?

“Until they show us the plan, we cannot show them the money,” said House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D., Calif.) at a press conference. ‘Until they show us the plan, we cannot show them the money.’

Constitutionally clueless Speaker Pelosi is oblivious to the fact that, since the federal Constitution doesn't say anything about bailouts, the federal government can't show them the money in the first place.

Article I, Section 8, Clause 18: To make all Laws which shall be necessary and proper for carrying into Execution the foregoing Powers, and all other Powers vested by this Constitution (emphasis added) in the Government of the United States, or in any Department or Officer thereof.
