Mitt Romney Takes on Detroit
By Garance Franke-Ruta
The race for 2012 is already on in the Republican Party, and today failed 2008 contender Mitt Romney appeared to take a stand sure to complicate any future presidential bid. In an op-ed bluntly titled, "Let Detroit Go Bankrupt," the former Massachusetts governor argued against the automobile salaries and pension systems that have for decades helped define the good life in industrial Michigan, where Romney won the GOP primary this winter and where his father was once governor.

Excellent, pt, Twink. Now we have Articulator-in-Chief, who will pontificate from his lecture lectern on how we all need to "change" -- and even more than he wants to change America, and change most of its underlying policies, he wants US to change.
So off to Re-education "summer" camp for 4 years of 4 seasons each we go!
“she is willing to neglect her baby to get what she wants, thats clear. I feel so sorry for her baby. Thats from the heart. You can put your spin on it all you want, but you know deep down Im right. Sorry to break it to you. Someone had to.”
So you think she’s a bad mother? Where’s your proof that she’s neglecting her infant and other children? You said she’s willing to “neglect” her baby to get what she wants. How is she neglecting her baby by having a job, a job that will benefit this Country?
Personally, I couldn’t do it but value those who do.
But, but...how can 0bama 'serve' why he has young daughters to raise. I mean you can't be a politician and a parent (of anyone under 30) right? I know I just read that someplace...
I'll smile and wave when I see you at the Re-Education Camp. I hope they crafts...
;)PaMom
LOL! Yep, *articulator in chief* minus substance.
I’d like to see him CHANGE me ;) I ain’t going to any camp without a beach and lots of beer ;) Seriously, me and mine aren’t falling for it.
Seriously, it’s frightening that so many fall for the articulation or well spoken crap and ignore the substance or lack thereof. Hell, some here fell for it.
“They knew she didnt have the qualifications. I had to talk people into voting for McCain by informing them how bad Obama was. Palin didnt help McCain at all.”
Good judges of character immediately saw the ‘Cuda for what she is — a real leader.
Not since Reagan...
“I look at him as a father figure”
Well there’s your *issue* right there, lol. You look to a politician as a “father figure” or hell, ANYONE other than your dad or close relative/friend as a father figure? You’re seriously looking to a politician as a father figure?
“handsome in a fatherly way?” Wow honey you got issues. I’m starting to see your hatred for Palin now. A self confident, educated woman, loving mother of 5 with an awesome husband and father to their kids. She happens to be attractive (not ugly and fat) to boot.
The clothes did it? How shallow of you, lol.
Ronald Reagan must be spinning right now.
enough of this lying about me!

Unfortunately, I know many people who turned against McCain because they saw that Palin was not qualified and was picked as a gimmick. Spending all that money on her clothes, they knew she wasnt qualified, they knew they were marketing her in a manipulative way.

Palin didnt help McCain at all. He would have gotten the base anyways. McCain needed to convert people, he didnt need to sing to the choir, and he didnt need a cheerleader who didnt understand what she was talking about either.

Please do your homework you are incorrect in your feelings about Palin.
//
Spending all that money on her clothes, they knew she wasnt qualified, they knew they were marketing her in a manipulative way.

She never did spend that money it came from the GOP and she never wore the stuff.
also if you were to watch the FoxNews report you would have known this and she has a very modest attire from a second hand shop for her cloths and shoes.
//
They knew she didnt have the qualifications. I had to talk people into voting for McCain by informing them how bad Obama was. Palin didnt help McCain at all.

It is sad but you really are off base here and it is unbecomming of you to harbor this misguided roomers.

Sorry but McCain was handed many opportunities to win this and he refused so he was either too stupid or game playing us to use them.

When I first started posting here, I was a Rudy supporter. I learned tons here about him and other candidates. I still think Rudy was an awesome Mayor of NYC in many ways and rocked during and after 9-11. I would have voted for him, for POTUS, with less hesitation than I did for McCain.
I didn’t know much about his position on guns, homos, abortion, etc. I knew what he did for NYC in positive ways and how he handled 9-11. I’d trust him with illegal immigration and border security and National security moreso than I would McCain. I’d trust him more for Conservative SCOTUS appointments than I would McCain.
My point, this site is filled with information many of us wouldn’t know otherwise. As long as Pro God, Pro 2nd A, Pro Life, Pro National Security, Pro border control, Pro man-woman (anti homo crap), small government, etc. remains the core, all will be well. So to speak.
I dont agree with your slanted version!
I agree I think Palin is really gifted and look forward to hearing more from her.
You got a crush on me you seem to be following me around like a lost pupppy!
Yeah, come on over and gimme a big wet, sloppy kiss. I’m sick with a nasty head cold. *snickers*
Reagam is spinning, definitely.
Clothes are important (so say the mags and other media, etc.). I think she looked fantastic. So well put together, so to speak. Didn’t care for the updo but that’s a personal preference. ;)
I don’t get this issue with her clothes or the budget or who paid for what, really. Is anyone itemizing the wardrobe of Obama, Biden, McCain? And who paid for their wardrobe? It’s all so silly. But to hear another woman focus on her clothes and the cost, just amazes me.
Palin’s clothes come up in discussion (but not the other 3 men), her parenting skills come up (but not the other 3 men). She’s a bad mother but they’re not bad fathers.
Rudy clearly reduced the crime rate in NYC dramatically, but saying that, he has so much baggage from the personal side of things which the media would’ve had a field day with. Aside from that, he’s essentially a liberal Democrat on virtually everything else (to his credit, he at least didn’t try to cynically or hypocritically switch positions). But on illegals, his record was clear. He’s very sympathetic to their cause, and that’s a no-go. Also, too, his promises to appoint Conservatives to positions. Why would you appoint people you have a fundamental disagreement with ? I wouldn’t, and I don’t know many pols that would. I think a lot of people were expecting too much from him.
I probably was expecting too much of him, too. I just admired what he did for NYC and how he handled 9-11. The only thing I admired about McCain was his Military service more than 3 decades ago.
I agree with everything you stated except him being pro-illegal. I think after 9-11, he changed. And more so than McCain, I think he loves this country more than his ego. I would have liked to see him as head of homeland security or something of that nature.
Heh, his personal life has way too much baggage.
Again, maybe I was expecting too much from him (scotus appointments, etc.). But I trusted him more than McCain. One of the things I really liked about him was that he didn’t care about the media. He didn’t court them like McCain did. I thought his speech at the convention rocked.
He’s not a conservative. I get that now. I liked him more than I did McCain.
Yeah, he’s a social liberal, from what I learned on here.
“(and Gov. Palin rose to the top...IMO...as a pro-life; pro-gun; pro-drilling; Conservative to balance the pansiefied believers of global warming, talk out of both side of their mouths on abortion, lets appease the Gays ‘RINOs’ that were popping up like weeds on the Republican side. Gov. Palin brought the base. Not McCain ‘reaching across that aisle’ no the Conservative values that Palin brought ‘energized’ the Consrvative base.”
Well said.
Well I think he’s a bad parent. How can he be so ambitious when he has little children at home to raise? Just who is raising those two precious little girls?
Heh, I hope they have beer. And football. And volleyball. And a beach. I’m not gonna like the reeducation camps if there’s not beer and football and a beach and my guns. They better have my *things* or I won’t be a happy camper.
Sarah in 2012 -- and Piper in 2036!!!!
Narses, you are WRONG.
If you go back through the posts, you will see that the quote you attributed to restornu was actually made by rodeo-mamma. restornu was DEFENDING this baseless attack on Sarah Palin.
