Obama Appoints Castro's Lawyer as White House Counsel

By Humberto Fontova

Among the throng of Clinton regime retreads recruited for the Obama administration we find Gregory Craig. Craig served as Obama's advisor on Latin American during the campaign, and was appointed last week as chief White House Counsel.

The MSM has mentioned Craig's role as Bill Clinton's impeachment lawyer, but mostly has omitted mention of Craig's role as chief facilitator for Fidel Castro's shanghaiing of Elian Gonzalez.

Officially Craig served as attorney for Elian's father, Juan Miguel Gonzalez. This humble man worked as a hotel doorman in a nation where the average monthly salary is $16. The high-rolling Gregory Craig worked for Washington D.C.'s elite firm, Williams & Connolly, one of America's highest-priced law firms.

Upon accepting the case, Gregory Craig had flown to Cuba for a meeting with Fidel Castro. Craig's remuneration, we learned shortly after his return, came from a "voluntary fund" set up by the United Methodist Board of Church and Society and "administered" by the National Council of Churches. The same reporters and pundits, who routinely erupt with snide snorts midway through any statement by a Republican press secretary, reported this item with a straight face.

But then, this media also reports that Castro's Cuba provides free and exquisite health-care. And the explanation of Craig's funding issued from the same source.

In an interview with Tim Russert on June 6, 2000, Gregory Craig explained his motivation for accepting the case: "What I want to do is to set Juan Miguel free. I want the father to make a decision uncoerced from Havana, uncoerced from Miami, uncoerced by the press, to make a decision where and how he wants to raise his family."

Unfortunately for Mr. Craig we have an eyewitness to his definition of "uncoercion."

This is not recent news. This should be well known. But the MSM kept snuffed it.

Even the dopes knew who Greg Craig was really representing in the Elian Gonzalez drama. Unfortunately, many people in this country think Castro is benign.

I'd like to send a “hello” to all the Cuban American freepers. Cuban Americans won my heart forever during the sad Elian story. YOU are what all Americans should aspire to be. I believe in the next life, we'll all be in a free Cuba. Vaya con Dios, amigos.

Hello to you and thank you.
What happened to Elian broke our hearts.
My parents left Cuba in 1961, his mother wanted him to
have freedom. Such a sad story.

THANK GOD! I thought Obama was going to be a marxist, now I can see he’s “just another Clinton out to make a dishonest buck”. We might actually be able to survive this administration. Maybe.

She died to secure his freedom and Bubba, Janet Reno and this animal doomed him back to Cuba.

Unconscionable.

The zero ran on a “no Bush thrid term” and here he is setting up the Clinton’s for 2012. Hillary can hardly run against him now based on the rheotirc of no Clinton 4th term, because he most certainly IS the Clinton 3rd term!

You can’t write a more incredible story of fiction than this debacle.

I intend to point out to the sheeple every chance I get that the zero is merely being handled by the Clinton’s and there is no pie in the oven.

What caused you, please, to a. see a true dichotomy here and, b. believe that the man who was effectively Castro's lawyer is not a neo-Marxist, too?

For those who forget who Greg Craig is, here is a reminder. Craig was Castro's lawyer (using the pretense that he was Elian's' father's lawyer) and he used his connections with the Clinton White House to get Elian Gonzales kidnapped at gunpoint and returned to Castro. Elian Gonzales' mother had given her life at sea in order to escape Castro and get her son to the land of liberty.
