It is. Sometimes I think the whole judicial system is just Kabuki Theater or something. I got bilked in an investment scam once (no, not the Nigerian e-mail scam) and the judge granted judgment in our favor and ordered the scammers to “disgorge” all of the “ill-gotten gains”. Well, big deal, they said they were broke (i.e., it was all transferred offshore) so the judge waived payment of anything to those who were bilked. I mean, why bother? The whole idea was to get our money back, and of course the scammers made sure that would never happen. Just a waste of time.
