With this President and this Congress there will not be any chance of a fair tax proposal going through...no chance at all.

Huckabee drew 2,000, McCain drew about 2,000 the other day. If Sarah Palin goes, she’ll draw at least 10,000. I’ve heard that she is going to spend the last weekend in November in Georgia. If she spends both Saturday and Sunday, 4 maybe 5 rallies, she’ll easily draw 10,000 to each one. If she wants to remain in the public eye, this is the perfect opportunity for her to shine, plus show up both McCain and Huckabee.

Chambliss’s camp has invited Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin,
Apparently he hasn't heard she'd be a drag on his campaign.

Correct and in this case as well as MN there was a third party who gummed up the works. Anyone who thinks third parties are a good thing need look no farther than this, MN and Ross Perot.. they always seem to begat a democrat in the end.

My fear is that unless we repeal the amendment that gives the feds the power to tax income first, we will end up with an income tax and a national sales tax.

We already have both. Every item you purchase has embedded taxes. Corporation pay income taxes. That tax is a cost to businesses. The cost is added into the price of a good at each stage of production. Consequently prices are raised considerably due to these taxes. The Fair Tax will eliminate these taxes and make them transparent by itemizing the tax on the receipt. Moreover companion legislation, House Joint Resolution 16, will repeal the 16th Amendment:

Support Chambliss anyway. He could be the deciding factor in whether or not the Dems get a 60 seat filibuster-proof Senate.

That's the point. Personally, I despise Chambliss, and wouldn't whiz on him if he were on fire, but that 60 seat thing is too important to let personal considerations get in the way, now.

Vote for the SOB, anyway.

And if by chance he manages to cling to power, never let the bastard forget who he owes it to.

FairTax is a tax on consumption.

Whether you spend (tax inclusive) $100 or $1,000 for an item, the tax RATE will be the same, irrespective of income.

ICO FairTax, it is 23% ($23.00 and $230.00, respectively).

Has NOTHING to do with income, aside FRom the fact that those who have more disposable income tend to spend more of it.

You're not wrong. Ga election law requires a majority plus 1 to avoid a runoff. IIRC Chambliss got 49%, Martin got 47%, and 4% went to the Libertarian candidate Allen Buckley. I'm pretty sure that if Buckley had not been in the race Chambliss would have won with probably 52%.

But now it all depends on turnout, and also on how much vote fraud the Democrat thugs in metro Atlanta can get away with, and that's usually a lot. Given the critical importance of this race in the next Senate's makeup I expect massive fraud by the Democrats all over the state, not just Atlanta.

The ads alluded to the 23 percent federal sales tax, but did not mention that the fair tax would abolish the income tax, an omission that infuriated fair tax supporters.

This is a tactic that the SQL's on FR are drooling over but they know that there are 80,000 bullsh*t seeking missiles on FR to hone in on them.

Martin's problem is that Georgians are very aware of the FairTax and how it works and they know he is lying through his teeth.

Sound familiar, SQL's?
