No, she’s not ready yet.
How so?
Why not? If you said that about ‘08, as much as I disagreed, I would cede that most voters knew nothing about her. But in ‘12? Why not?
She’s mad at the way she was (and is being) maligned. She wants to be understood. Nobody knows the petroleum (not to be confused with energy - one comes under the Dept. of the Int., the other under the Dept. of Energy) argument better than she does. So I’d like to know what, in your opinion, disqualifies her now from a potential ‘12 run.
What a load of crap. Was McBipartisan ready? Was Mitt Ronmey, a socially liberal ex Mass. governor, ready? Was Huckabee, the populist, ready? The only real Conservative in the Pubbie Presidential field was Fred Thompson. Sadly he is ill.
Was Bush ready? Ran as a conservative but proved to be something different. Did three good things in his first term—took on muslim fundamentalist terrorists, tax cuts and Supreme Court justice picks. It was all downhill from there. Even managed screw up the so-called war on terror.
Was Ronald Reagan ready? Never held public elected office in his life. Exactly what were his credentials? But he had two overriding strengths: 1. He was a conservative who refused to compromise core Constitutional values. 2. He was an excellent communicator.
Sarah Palin has been elected to mayor and gubernatorial offices. She had to take on the Alaskan GOP machine to change the status quo—and she won. She is a principled conservative and is enthusiastically supported by 80% of Alaskans. She took on the oil companies and won. She is from an “energy” state and understands what is necessary to become energy independent. And, finally, she is an excellent communicator.
I defy you to name anyone who comes to the table with that many plusses.
Oh Plueeze!!
Gov Palin is readier than Comrade Hussein will ever be..and he's going to be president come Jan 20th. Stop with that already.
