I remember all through the 80’s how he tried to push as much anti-firearm legislation as he could. His name was always coming up.

And he's the third most liberal member of the senate if I remember correctly.

This country is screwed no matter what. The next 4 years are going to be bad. McCain would have made it slightly less bad, but remember his Gang of 14 and all the legislation he sponsored that supported the liberal Democrat agenda.

I read a post somewhere over the last couple of days (apologies, I don’t recall whose) that was spot-on:

The good news is, McCain lost.
The bad news (the VERY bad news) is, obama won.
