The real question is whether you can pull it off without the base. this last election should have shown all the political moderate wonks like yourself, that the answer is NO.
I watched Delay on cspan-2 today on a panel
(with old Clintonista, soon probably to be
in the 0 admin, Jack Quinn, who was instrumental
in getting Marc Rich’s pardon).
They were discussing current politics and what
Obama and Congress will likely do.
I was stunned to hear Delay state that 35M
conservatives didn’t vote this time, in
reference to the hypothese that conservatives
need to broaden the base and become more
moderate.
If true, that says a lot about what the
silent majority would give a core conservative
in the way of support and turnout.
Anyone else heard anything about the 35M noshows?
Hmm, never really been thought of as a moderate! Do you really think only moderates don’t believe this?
