As the red-and-blue posters start to fade, this bit of Big-Brotherism comes along:
US president-elect Barack Obama is to make the first YouTube address to the nation on Saturday, recording a talk not just on radio but also on video, a spokesman said Friday.
President-elect Obama will record the Weekly Democratic Radio Address on video and radio, spokesman Nick Shapiro said.
The address will be turned into a YouTube video which we will post on www.change.gov, the official website of the Obama transition team, he said.
No president-elect or president has ever turned the radio address into a multi-media opportunity before, Shapiro added.
An opportunity for whom? And for what? For President Obama to recreate himself on every last surface and sound wave that hasnt yet been changed in his image? Or an opportunity for the rest of us to marvel at the planets last, best hope?
Heres the Orwellian cherry on top:

No thanks.
However, more importantly, at this point; will the Republican Party immediately post their weekly Republican YouTube Response?
No, of course not. That would be Marketing, which Republicans do not get. That would also make sense, which Republicans don't seem to have - at least the leadership doesn't.
Hey RNC; Build a Brand. Market it. Win an election.
Hello, hello.....
Want to bet ratings and comments will be disabled?
Hopefully networkObammy will become a joke in a short time. Unlike North Koreans and palestinians, Americans know bad theater when they see it over and over again.
So he's basically going to do something teenagers do in their spare time.
Color me impressed....not.
Yeah...can’t ANYONE post on YouTube basically....how special....
I will be sure to not listen and see the lying babbling SOS.
I'm not so sure any more.
Isn’t the presidents weekly radio address put out as video also? Maybe not on The People’s Tube but I remember seeing many live shots from Saturday Morning.
But, making a big deal out of it is keeping an image before the public, which is something Obama’s opponents don’t do.
Much to everyone's surprise, press support for McCain disappeared during the campaign!
I’m so sick of these jack@sses already... praising our dear leader as the “first” one to broadcast a weekly RADIO address on video? It’s called converging technology and those stupid talking points dont amount to diddly squat. That’s fine, the great unwashed Obama worshipers will keep drinking the kool-aid until there isn’t even the pretence of objectivity and realism
.
“He is damn lucky we did not have a more forceful candidate than McCain.”
We had whimpy McCain- just as the leftist MSM planned.
Talk about ‘a perfect storm’.
As others have noted, it will be interesting to see if the ability to leave a comment will be enabled, and if the GOP will counter with a weekly rebuttal.
Of course, that doesn't mean that an enterprising person couldn't create a weekly video of their own. Sort of a “What promise has Obama broken this week.” series.
yes. Yes. Yes. It’s all about branding, marketing, PERCEPTION! That’s how to sell ideas. Right now the Republican brand is - dull, reactionary, filthy rich (right, as if...), and mean - reality has nothing to do with this.
Perception. Reality. They both count.
The political left is great with perceptions, but their reality sucks.
The political right (in the US) is great with reality, but their image (people’s perceptions) sucks.
The only requirement for evil to triumph is for good people to do nothing. That has been the Republican party’s job description for a number of decades; do nothing to stop the evil. It’s time for a new job description. Stop the evil. Promote the good.
