I know he’s pro-AA, but what makes you say he’s pro-choice?

"Steele is PRO-CHOICE"

Absolutely, categorically WRONG

He has always been very strongly pro-life.

Well, we have Freepers state he is a solid conservative. Some say he is pro-life. Than you say he is pro-choice and pro-affirmative action.

I am beginning to think he is an another enigma. Two examples - one recent, one old. Recent - before the election he was asked about the black vote going to Obama and white racism. Instead of explaining how he won all white majority counties in Maryland and lost because blacks would not support a black Republican, he went with the media case of white racism. Old - I heard a speech by him in front of a black audience and he was went into the ebonics speak. When he is on FNC and other shows like that, he drops the ebonics speak.

Bottom line, I don't know what he is or where he really stands.

Actually, he says he is “produly” pro-life, though he waffled on whether Roe v. Wade should be overturned. Regarding Roe V. Wade, in the 2006 Maryland Senate debate He also said:
“My desire is that we follow what stare decisis is at this point.” (Did he think the debate was a Supreme Court confirmation hearing?)

On the other hand he has come out strongly against embryonic stem cell reseach and said he consider the embroyos to be human lives.

That is a strange combination.

I get the feeling he is really pro-life but he was trying to win a Senate seat in an a very Liberal state, but I don’t like the pandering.

He is clearly, strongly pro-Affirmative action. What particularly bothers me is that he basically says that AA has worked in colleges, but is needed more in the corporate world.

I am not for AA in either setting, but if anything, workplace AA is far more offensive and damaging than educational AA.
