it would cost Obama when most Americans refused to show upI'm sure they wouldn't jail people, but I imagine they will try to set up some vengeful punishment for non-compliance. You will lose your new "federal" driver's license. And your new federal permit to purchase gas and oil. And your new federal permission to attend college. And your new worker's card entitling you to apply for a job. And your new federal permit to purchase food. And your new federal permit to purchase electricity and heat for your home.
