CA: State high court throwing out Prop. 8 sure to lead to recall effort
San Diego Tribune ^ | 11/11/2208 | Chris Reed

The California Supreme Court's surprising announcement that it will quickly review the legality of Proposition 8, banning gay marriage, has prompted growing speculation that the four judges who found a right to gay marriage in the state Constitution in a May ruling will quickly throw Prop. 8 out. If that happens, watch out for a "barn-burner of an election -- the biggest thing this state has ever seen," says recall election guru Ted Costa.

Costa says he's already been contacted by some of the folks who would seek to recall Ronald George, Joyce Kennard, Kathryn Werdegar and Carlos Moreno if Prop. 8 is scrapped. He thinks it's premature and risky because talk of a recall "would just (bleep) off the judges."

Costa also doesn't sound like he's too thrilled about such a recall, saying it wouldn't be "healthy." Citing all the financial turmoil in California, he said, "If someone's going to do some recalling, that should be the focus."

But Costa sounds certain such a recall would happen and agreed that it would be no problem at all for gay marriage opponents to quickly gather the signatures of 12 percent of the electorate to force a recall election targeting George, Kennard, Werdegar and Moreno. He said supporters of Prop. 8 such as the Knights of Columbus, the Mormon Church and other traditional religious groups all had "massive" resources to bring to bear.

He doesn't think the state Supreme Court will overturn Prop. 8. "I gotta believe they'll uphold the initiative process." But if the four justices do, Costa says expect an amazing spectacle.

I agree. I think literally hundreds of millions of dollars would be spent on the recall. Gay marriage opponents see Prop. 8 as akin to a last stand preventing a global movement toward acceptance of gay marriage and will go all out. Gay marriage supporters, for their part, will no longer accept incremental progress or "civil unions."

At least it would be good for the California economy.

If you think it’s overwhelming with just this sludge from the clinton years, consider what the Marxist squirrel will add to the leftist rolls of judges legislating from the benches, federal district benches. Elections have consequences and the Reid Senate has held open many many benches to allow the leftist messiah to fill the ranks with more leftist commies.

If we had gone out and marched in convenient neighborhoods, saying we just didn’t like Obama as our President, could the courts overturn that too? I mean, losing an election is JUST NOT FAIR!

Representing the African American Christian churches and church members who supported then voted for Proposition 8 and against gay marriage, Rev. Bishop Frank Stuart said:

"The Mormons didn't do it by themselves so if you're going to be angry, be angry with all of us.

We are over in South Central Los Angeles and it wouldn't be too healthy for gay people to come over here in a large group with a protest."

The homosexual rioters thus far have targeted only Mormon churches and temples, defacing at least one Mormon church. The homosexual mobs have required that the Los Angeles Police Department pay for extra police officers in order to protect the homosexuals and provide traffic control during the homosexual riots.

The homosexual mobs have blocked traffic, blocked businesses, they have harassed people and they have surrounded the Mormon churches with mobs of homosexual protesters.

The homosexuals said that they are going to have to educate "all" Christians.

The homosexual mobs have already "educated" every thinking American.

Indeed, these homosexual rioters are not just a threat to the Mormons and Christian voters who supported Proposition 8.

The homosexual mobs have demonstrated by their mob actions and threats of tying up our courts that they do not respect the rights of any voter who voted for Proposition 8; they do not respect the right of any person to disagree with them or with their homosexual agenda; they do not respect our elections; they do not respect the rule of law; and they have taught us all that they do not believe in freedom of religion for anyone who doesn't support the homosexual agenda.

With no regard for what voters already decided, the homosexual mobs have shown that they will use any means necessary, including bullying private individuals, attacking churches, violent protests and forcing law enforcement and courts to spend taxpayer money, in order to reach the homosexual community's goal of turning our country into a homosexual utopia.
From This Post

The homosexuals don't go into the black neighborhoods to riot. Well, they are sissies...

Like PETA throwing paint on old dowagers in mink, shying away from the leather clad people in biker bars, so the poofters don't go where a lot of the people that voted for Prop 8 hang out.

It was interesting to see that 25% of San Francisco voters voted yes on Prop. 8. Supposedly about 25% of voters there are gay and the rest are allegedly liberal. There’s a fifth column there in the City By The Bay.

It was a miracle Romney was ever elected in Massachusetts, a state with no republican legislators. I tried to vote for one but there was not one to be found on the ballot.

So then they declare the recall unconstitutional, null and void. Then what?

Pitchforks.

Ease up, francis. Mormons are very family oriented. Sexual degeneracy is not family oriented and destroying the foundation of the family—marriage—is one of the main goals of the sexual degenerates, including the fLDS. LDS oppose these evils because they are evil; the assault on family is a demonic campaign not just a homosexual agenda.

The state court CANNOT find a consitutional amendment unconstitutional. If the courts want to completely undermine the rule of law they are welcome to make a ruling like this. Be aware that there are unintended consequences.

If they apply the law, there is no way they can overturn Prop. 8, even though they voted for homosexual marriage. The legal issue before the court is different. The legal issue is: does Prop. 8 constitute a revision of the constitution, or is it just an amendment? If it’s a revision, legally speaking, then it could be in conflict with the rest of the constitution, and the legislature would have to start that type of process. Which the Dem. legislature would never do.

If they apply the law, this is a no brainer. If they use political correctness as the guide to what the law should be, then they would overthrow Prop. 8.
