Fred turned down the option of running for the post. I wouldn’t mind him, at least fundamentally he remains an unapologetic conservative who can articulate the reasons why. And he does have some experience in building a stronger party. He needs to remain involved. I’ve no objection to Steele, he should have been the choice in ‘06 but Bush though pandering with a selection of Mel Martinez was the way to go.

My objection to Newt isn’t age related. It’s due to that liberal tripe coming out of his mouth the last four years. The message disqualifies him in my eyes.
