NEWTOWN, Conn., Nov 10, 2008 /PRNewswire-USNewswire via COMTEX/ -- As firearm sales continue to increase this year, at a rate of 10 percent over the same period last year and 15 percent in October alone, the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF) -- the trade association for the firearms industry -- is pointing to gun-owner concerns about an Obama Administration as reason for the boom.
Last week President-elect Obama's Web site had posted his administration's agenda for curtailing the Second Amendment rights of law abiding Americans, thereby validating the concerns of gun owners, sportsmen and firearms enthusiasts all across the country. Curiously, the Obama-Biden gun control agenda was taken down from the Web site after just two days.
President-elect Obama's Web site stated he would make permanent the expired "assault weapons" ban of 1994, a ban on firearms that was based on cosmetic appearance, such as the type of stock on the gun, and not functionality. The expired ban did nothing to reduce crime while it was in place. President-elect Obama's Web site intentionally misled the American people by referring to these firearms as "weapons that belong on foreign battlefields." These firearms are not machine guns. In reality, these commonplace firearms that President-elect Obama wants to permanently ban are used in shooting competitions and are found in homes and hunting lodges all across the country. They fire only once with each trigger pull, no spray firing, and they shoot the same ammunition as other firearms of the same caliber.

Welcome to FR.
Texan?
Those limits will very depending the distance between the offending politian and the muzzle.
Megyn Kelly.
Goddess of all which is good.
I say buy three guns in the next month because if gun confiscation does take place, you can hide one and turn the other two in.
You guys know you’re going to do exactly what the government tells you. At least half of the posters here are pretenders.
I stand alone. I will defend the Constitution and our gun rights alone if need by. The power of one!
As for seccession, when the state opens “living quarters” for your children to live in while attending school starting at age 3 and you only get to visit them two weeks a year, just voting for the other party won’t be enough. Some states will have to seccede from the union to maintain their loyalty to G-d.
The original reason for the Second Amendment is about to become apparent. Im not letting a Kenyan raghead elected via voter fraud and a bunch of Commie college kiddies take my guns. Sorry.”
AMEN and I won’t say “sorry”...
I lived in both Pa and Ohio. Union or not, these people are not going drop off their guns at the nearest Obama thug center for the confiscation of firearms! In fact. Pa. folks will probably start an “Obama thug” season...like deer season, only more fun!
I hope you’re right.
Thanks for welcoming me - of course I’ve been here for weeks now... LOL! Sarcasm.... Ha ha I’m an oldtimer....
Expect a slew of bills are already written, agreed to, and ready to ram thru Congress the moment a suitable statistically-predictable high-profile crime occurs.
Witness how long it took to ram through nationalization of our banking system: one week flat, and that was prolonged only so long as it took to dole out $100B in pork.
Keep a close eye on what was HR1022 in the last session of Congress: AWB II - The For Keeps Version. I suggest we counter with a judicial push to repeal 922(o) ... if they’re gonna play hardball, we play harder.
Agreed. I’m in Michigan too and it’s getting pretty tedious to listen to others cut down the citizens of our state just because of the heavy union influence here. There are also millions here that didn’t vote for Obama, just like there were millions in their states that did. Take a look at a map of red and blue counties nationwide to find the true colors of our states. If you dropped Wayne county from MI, We’d be a red state. Hey Infowarrior, I’m with you. I’ve drawn my line in the sand and I will never relinquish ownership of my weapons-—NEVER!
I thimnk he will try to do it as an executive order to prevent the rats in congress from having to vote on the thing and so to have to answer to their constituents.
Ummm... I think you're laboring under a misconception. I'm not a MI resident, but a MD resident. I do have some relatives in MI though, and all else holds true..
the infowarrior
Look for an increasing number of these type articles as well as media highlighting gun violence as the leadup to anti-gun legislation.
You mean like when the first AWB went into place? I seem to miss the mass uprising, the running gun battles, and the millions of outraged gun owners fighting back when the original AWB took effect...
She’s my fav.
I should’ve remembered her name, but I’ll never forget her face (or body).
Exactly what qualifies as an assault weapon. I have an automatic 22 calibre that has a 25 round clip. Is that an assault weapon?
you buy them where they don’t have to be registered. that’s what i’ve done. 4 and counting.
I hope they do it. It will require a public vote and will be an advance list of un-employed DemonRatz come 2010.
