The primary process is what gave us McCain in the first place. Winner take all primaries in CT, NY and CA is stupidity. And, that is how McCain won. States we have no chance of ever winning are selecting the GOP nominee ?

I agree with you. I’d get rid of winner-take-all primaries.

The most they should get is something proportional to their percentage of vote in that state. If Candidate X wins New Hampshire with 40% and Candidate Y has 33%, then X doesn’t walk away with 100% and Y with zero. X has some delegates and so does Y.

I think the party already gives extra reward delegates to states that voted for their candidate in the previous election.

The defeat of Romney at 1:00 PM on Super Tuesday in WV, a WV GOP engineered victory for the Huckster, is what sealed the outcome of the Republican nominating process.

Some back-up for my #33

http://wvgazette.com/News/200802050313

Remember these;

This was a first. There had never been a WV GOP Presidential Convention before....this had ALL insiders in attendance.

The decision was reached at 1:00 PM EDT, so the fact that Romney lost was broadcast for hours during the rest of the day, Super Tuesday. I daresay that this influenced other, later, primaries and caucuses.

IIRC, McCain was the ONLY Republican candidate that did NOT appear here in WV on Super Tuesday. He already knew that the fix was in.
