The reason Sarah appeals to conservatives so well is that she believes in more limitations of government than McCain....and far, far more than Obama. McCain and Palin were an incongruous team that would have had some embarrassing moments because of these differences.

Sarah is the better straight talker; and her politics is based on limited government, not the semi-capitulation-to-get-votes-and-notoriety that McCain waged with his Campaign Finance Reform law. She is the better conservative and we all know it.

The Republican party needs to go back to the basics:

1. The Constitution
2. Ethics and Virtues

I disagree with the focus on religion. If we focus on virtue and ethics, we gain those who are religious and those who believe in the good qualities of character. That is a good dividing line to publicize and exploit politically.

I terms of a conservative caucus I’d support within the Republican Party, it would have to be pro-religion. If the religion neutrals or anti-religionists within the Repub Party want a caucus, let them start one.

This election has proven that the Republicans don’t win without an active base. McCain didn’t excite the base...to include religious conservatives. He NEVER made Abortion and Justices a topic of discussion. What message was he sending with that????
