Well, back during the primaries, I seem to remember that there were a fair number of folks on this board who embraced McCain as the only candidate who was "electable," usually in the context of putting down Duncan Hunter and his candidacy.
Where are those people now?

Well, I didn’t support McCain during the primaries but Duncan Hunter, his military background and work in Congress be praised, would have been shellacked.
Hunter, Tancredo, Johnny What’s His Name, even Senator Thompson (who I did support) were boutique candidates. Each attractive to his supporters but political footnotes.

Where are those people now? I don't know, but I wasn't one of them. I was blasting McCain from the beginning, but toned it down a bit once he became the nominee. I must admit it feels awfully good to be able to blast away again.
