Minnesota is becoming to 2008 politics what Florida was in 2000 or Washington State in 2006 - a real mess. The outcome will determine if the Democrats get 58 members of the US Senate, giving them an effective filibuster-proof vote on many issues.
When voters woke up on Wednesday morning after the election, Senator Norm Coleman led Al Franken by what seemed like a relatively comfortable 725 votes. By Wednesday night, that lead had shrunk to 477. By Thursday night, it was down 336, By Friday it was 239. Late Sunday night, the difference had gone down to 221 - a total change over 4 days of 504 votes.

“However, in reality, its the message of divison, bitterness and anger, that drove a 5th of Conservatives to most liberal Senator in Washington.
America is a good nation.
It will NEVER EVER respond positively to anger and hatred. This election has proven that.”
Are you really that naive? Did you not notice how negative Obama’s campaign was? It was one long anti-Bush chant.
At least it’s good to know something like 58% of MN voters went against Franken.
If Coleman loses I hope they will make him a poster boy of stolen GOP elections. He could be excellent as a fund raiser. Go around speaking about how the Dems stole the election right out from under him. With Franken as a big time hate figure, this could bring in millions for the GOP. I would rather see Coleman win. But if he does not, he could still do the party a major service.
Who came up with that statistic? Katie Couric? Reverend Wright? Oh, it must've come from a poll at the local mall of teenagers.
No 'conservative' in their right mind would vote for 0bama.
What I’m hoping is that a Franken in the Senate will turn into an uncontrollable loose cannon like Moran and Miller in the House.
That’s the upside.
If Coleman wins by ONE Vote, it’s MINE !!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am not kidding. That is what is being reported.
Shades of ballot box 13 in Jim Wells County, Texas in 1948.
So much for Minnesota politics being clean. How do you just find extra ballots in a car? Aren't they supposed to be placed in sealed ballot boxes that have numbered seals that indicate tampering if they are removed?
In the precinct I worked. We had three electronic voting booths and one controller. Each voting booth was delivered to the polling with a numbered wire and platstic seal to insure the device had not been tampered with since being reset at the county courthouse. Two election judges were required to document opening the seals of each machine, record the seal numbers, and sign a report documenting this. After the voting booths were set up two zero reports were run documenting that the number of ballots cast and votes for each candidate were zero before the precinct was opened at 7:00 am. Starting at 9:30 am, every two hours an election judge or clerk publicly posted the total numbers of voters casting ballots at the precinct.
At poll closing time, two more report tapes were printed to show how the precinct voted. Then the color coded quadruplicate lists of voters for the princt were separated to go into separate envelopes one which goes to the Texas Secrtary of State. Also placed in the envelope are a copy of the initial zero report and end of day report along with a signed report by the election judges. The other envelopes go to various destinations; I can't remember them all. Before the report envelopes are sealed, the voting booths are packed up, and a new set of serial numbered security tags are place on each booth, and the judges sign a report stating that the tags have placed on each machine, and this report also goes to the Secretary of State.
The controller machine is packed up and taken by an election judge to the county courthouse where it is plugged into a computer and its data is copied to a server were the data is tabulated along with the early and absentee ballots. The next day county workers pick up the sealed voting machines that still have their removeable memory cards inside. In the case of a recount the voting machines will have their memory cards removed and read.
The system is fast and accurate. I looked at the preliminary results that were printed to a 900+ page PDF for 126 precincts just 4 hours after poll closing time. These machines are so accurate and there are so many checks in the system that in one race for precinct county commissioner, the incumbent who lost declined to ask for a recount after losing by just 172 votes out of 20,286 votes cast.
This is true for the random errors only.
But IF the voters for one party are on average more stupid than those of the other and make stupid mistakes that cause their ballots to be rejected by automatic reading methods, then a manual recount could find more votes for the one with the stupid voters.
Just saying.... It actually makes a good case that some people should't be voting in the first place....
Thats a non-issue. With a majority already, they can vote to remove the fillibuster rule if they so choose...........
Where is Gov Tim Pawlenty and what is he doing? He’s Republican and should make sure the recount is honest and clean
Donks have stolen numerous elections ever since Loretta Sanchez stole the 1996 election from B1-Bob. Newt and the other Republicans abandoned Robert K. Dornan attempt to get justice
Actually, Democrats have a tradition of stealing elections going back much further than 1996. They have been the party of lies and fraud and chicanery - at least for the most part - probably since Andrew Jackson. And they have even done it against one another in their own primaries, like Lyndon Johnson getting to the Senate in the 1948(?) Dem primary by ballot box stuffing in one small Texas town to win by 12(?) votes, thus earning the sarcastic nickname "Landslide Lyndon." The list of general elections stolen by 'Rats is too numerous to mention.
It's about time that the national GOP makes a big push for changes in state election laws to clean up the fraud.
thanks justiceseeker93.

Jesse... who called Christians cowards.

That person should be charged with Election Fraud.

You guys are losers... you have lost the last two elections that you controlled and managed. America wants a leader, not a wishy-washy moderate that does not believe in anything before there is consensus. Americans saw a committed marxist and even though they may not like obammy’s agenda, they voted for someone that they thought would change things through his passion.
McAmnesty only stood for more Bush to the moderates... and even Bush lied about being a conservative to win both of his terms. There is no longer room for your rinoism in this party... you like moderation?... join the dims and moderate their party.

Here is the up to date info from a blogger in Minnesota:

ACORN has been in place here for at least twenty years. Minnesota politics haven’t been clean since then.
It's legit to consider McCain as a moderate Republican, but Obama running as a conservative? What was "conservative" about him, beside the fact that he wore a suit and tie most of the time and sported an American flag lapel pin. Anyone with the slightest familiarity with his background as a Red Diaper baby, his ultraleft Illinois Senate and US Senate voting record, his hanging out with terrorists and his redistributionist and appeasement ideology could not possibly classify his candidacy as "conservative"!!!
What a load of buzzwords pablum and clichés. How about some original thinking of your own? You voted for 0?
