Isn’t it amazing after Freddie and Fannie Mae made so many people(who voted for Obama)lose their homes; and here they are welcoming one of their Board members.

It’s like welcoming the wolf into the chicken house. Can you get any dumber?

Boycott the forced enslavement. They can’t put em all in jail.

The up side of the college for everyone is that you’ll be able to discuss classical literature with the counter person at your local fast food restaurant.

Yeah, $3K per year will barely pay for half a semester.

It’s called schadenfreude, and, yes, it’s rather delicious. But only three months? Wouldn’t three years be better? Three months is hardly enough time to unpack, get settled in, and maybe get a little training; it’s certainly not enough time for any real accomplishment, such that the program might pay for itself. Three years would no doubt be far better...

My kids have already graduated from college with lots of students loans to pay back. Are they simply shafted because they were born too early or will ‘bama give them some retroactive money? I mean, hey, let’s talk about fairness here. That’s what the Dems love, isn’t it?

In 2006, U.S. oil companies paid more in corporate income taxes to the IRS ($138 billion) than the individual taxes paid by the more than 100 million individual taxpayers in the bottom 75% of all individual taxpayers

(that doesn’t include special oil severance, sales and use taxes companies also had to pay.)

http://soundmoneytips.com/article/78793-oil-companies-paid-more-than-bottom-75-of-taxpayers

So much for Big Oil being evil, oh and lets not forget that Big Oil is owned by the middle class, through pension funds, 401k’s, etc.

How do the Einsteins in Congress think we can make up the difference??? We are F****D!!

What? $3k won't even pay for a quarter of a quarter at some places!

This is all useless without a source. We’ve been hoaxed too much lately, so we need to be suspicious.

It looks like the elimination of IRAs and 401ks is a lock. Easy sell because Americans are “incapable of making investment decisions for themselves”. Several links discuss the problem:

LoL, he tops it off with fiscal responsibility.

We have a trillion dollar deficit already and he’s proposing trillions in new spending.

Fix social security and medicare first before you start talking about expanding services. And do it without causing stagflation.

I’ll call it now, the Obama administration is going to be a disaster. Medicare and social security need to be reformed right away but Obama knows if he starts off with such a big issue, he’s going to get trashed, especially if he tries to do it from the center of his party and ignores republicans.

The both of them need to be fixed within 4 years or we are going to have a disaster when the labor force participation rate is going to go down with the baby boomers retiring.

“A College Tuition Grant of $3,000 per year? That might buy a book at Harvard...............”

Exactly! One of the dirty secrets is that higher education has continued to skyrocket BECAUSE of government financial aid. The aid is increased....the colleges raise tuition...the students get screwed!

3,000 dollars given? I’m sure that the only way to get even THAT amount of money is to volunteer for COMPULSORY community service. Talk about slave labor!

Besides, this is just another example of Hussein’s ignorance about the economy! If kids are providing “volunteer” services, then entrepreneurs or other agencies that usually would hire these people don’t have to pay a dime. More loss of jobs, lack of productivity, and the list goes on!

Of course, socialism is Hussein’s OTHER middle name

Too true about how kids would treat college if they did not have to pay for it! As a high school English teacher, I can tell you that students definitely change their tune when it is their money (and not tax payers money) at stake.

I also was wondering whether I should instill Obama’s philosophy in my classroom. Those students receiving a 95% or higher on tests obviously worked harder, took advantage of what was available to them, and succeeded. Those who received a lower score obviously need help despite the fact that they probably never opened a book. Yet, according to Obama’s plan (socialism), I should take the points away from the A students and give them to those on the bottom in order to make it equal.

If McCain or anyone else in the campaign had tried to reach college students and given them a lesson on conservatism ON THEIR LEVEL, perhaps they would have gotten the message (or at least some of them)

My husband also gave this point: Kids aren’t allowed to drink until they are 21...why? Because statistically, they don’t have the judgement to not drink, drive and kill themselves. Yet, we allow them to vote in an election despite the fact that they pay no taxes, live with mommy and daddy, and get drunk on weekends anyway.
