Calif. gov.: 'We will maybe undo' Prop 8

California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger Sunday said "we will ... maybe undo" a measure passed by voters Tuesday stripping same-sex couples of the right to marry.
Proposition 8 amends the state constitution to declare that "only marriage between a man and a woman is valid or recognized in California." It came in reaction to a state Supreme Court ruling that laws prohibiting same-sex marriage violated the state constitution.
In an appearance Sunday on CNN, Schwarzenegger said the state Supreme Court might overturn Proposition 8, the Los Angeles Times reported. He also said it is likely Proposition 8 will have no effect on the estimated 18,000 same-sex marriages already recorded in California.
"It's unfortunate, obviously, but it's not the end," Schwarzenegger told CNN. "I think that we will again maybe undo that, if the court is willing to do that, and then move forward from there and again lead in that area."

This is insane! THE WILL OF THE PEOPLE is not enough any more. I am sick about where this country has gone and corruption of our wonderful system is supported by government officials! The Tree of Liberty needs a drink.

Time for a recall - I can't support this guy anymore - he's a political coward.
Trouble is, the next governor of California may be far worse.

Red Arnold is out of touch with Californians, who disagreed with him about same sex marriage - TWICE! His reaction to the passage of Prop. 8? Ignore them and get the California Supreme Court to again put those bigots and homophobes in their place! Like the rest of the elites, he embarrassed that people still believe in traditional values! After all, its as antique as resisting the new taxes and bigger government spending he wants to heap on the state's residents. In Red Arnold's world, California isn't a democracy; its an an Arnoldtatorship.

Yes you are right. This is a constitutional amendment, not just a regular law. So the courts don’t have the authority to overturn it.
The activists are going back to court with a long shot legal argument that this amendment is in conflict with the rest of the Calif. constitution, and the parts of the constitution used by the judges to justify same-sex marriage. It’s a long shot, but since our laws are now made by political correctness, not by the rule of law, anything is possible when this gets back in the courtroom.

Yeah, who cares about the will of the people? Who cares about the California Constitution? God help us we’re nearly in a situation where only the will of the most vocal with the deepest pocket is done.

“The comments seem to represent a change in Schwarzenegger's thinking, the Times said. In the past he has said he believes marriage should be between a man and a woman, but he has also said the matter should be decided by VOTERS or the courts and he opposed Proposition 8”
Voters have already decided. sore loosers, they can never take it in the end.

"Dont forget he is also proposing a 1.5% Sales Tax increase in a the middle of economic diaster to make California Sales Tax rate = 10.25%, the highest in the country." California sales tax is currently 7.25%. An addition of 1.5% would make it 8.75%.

Arnold is a racist. Whites voted against this measure 51-49. Blacks voted 70% for it.

The land is lawless, Obama doesn't have to obey the law, the courts will not uphold it, so We the people, do not have to either. it's time to recall all government and establish another.
Revolt, stop paying taxes. Defend the constitution. Nothing will cause the citizens well armed militia to rize up faster than the reaction of government against a citizenship in revolt.

If they could undo it that easy they would have undone the affirmative action vote the same way. I don't think they will be able to change it without another vote.
Michigan banned queer marriage and partnerships, and affirmative action the same way. The courts refused every attempt to overrule the vote.
