yes, my thoughts exactly, Al.

Ok, so if it’s determined by the state how they hold thier primaries, what can be done to open them only to Repubs and Indies. MsSmith makes a good point about needing indies input, since they will be voting in the general...i’m assuming we have to appeal to the our own states RNC, but how? can the registered repubs in that state make a case to the RNC to change the policy on the primaries???

I would imagine most state primary rules are governed by the state legislatures. I'm not sure what the RNC can do about that, beyond trying to exert whatever influence they can on the individual legislatures. Other than that, the RNC would have to consider rewriting the rules for selecting their candidate. I don't think that's feasible. JMO.

IMO it's not a major problem except that we're dealing with Obama. He'll have a group of bloc voters that will do whatever he says. Just my $.02.
