Give the gal some time off. (And no, she is not the best hope).
Let’s roll up our sleeves and start working for ‘12. It begins now by getting Chamblis reelected in Georgia and Coleman over the hump in Minnesota, then to ‘10 to retake the House and Senate.
It’s on!
I’ll admit no one else.
It’s a bit early to choose our “best hope” for ‘12. We have some younger conservatives to keep an eye on for the next 3 years, and Sarah is one of them.
Personally, I’m hoping for a Jindal/Palin ticket at the moment, but I’m going to wait and see how things play out.
That comment in the article is dead on. This campaign was worse run than even Pres. G. H. W. Bush's dismal re-election performance.
The GOP screwed up in may ways and one was not using Palin more effectively. I'll be very interested to see what she does during 2010 and 2011.
To be honest, I really don’t see how Palin can come back from this one. The media did an effective job of destroying her to the 63 million that voted for Obama. Those folks think she is a dumb hick from Alaska. And if she tries to run again in 4 years, they will just do it again. How in the world can you rehab that image? (BTW, I think she is STELLAR, I’m just pointing out what I think is the obvious)

That’s right. I couldn’t agree with you more. It’s sad but true...
Think Nixon and Reagan. Both were brutalized by the press yet came back more focused and determined. It is possible.
I share your concern. Palin was Quayled big time. There will be a consistent effort to keep her down.
I agree with you, this woman was relentlessly attacked by a pack of vicious rabid dogs like nobody I have ever seen; she held up remarkably well; I think she’s just great in every respect. But I tend to doubt that the engrams about her from this campaign can ever be cauterized from the American mind...such as it is.
It’s way too early to seriously think about ‘12 candidates! Folks seriously need to think about their local elections in ‘09 and then continue onto the ‘10 elections. I’m also honestly not convinced that this serious loss for both Republicans and conservatives will be successfully resolved by either ‘10 or ‘12. I’m from Massachusetts, and both the Republican Party of Massachusetts and conservatives of Massachusetts have been successfully suppressed for over fifty years now and counting. This is part of why I’m so pessimistic about the long-term future of the U.S. as a country as I now see all of the problems with “Massachusetts politics” now going national, starting on January 20, 2009.
So the GOP cocktail crowd feeds stories to the media and in doing so get to choose the Republican candidate.
Yeah, that worked very well for us... wait... didn’t the Democrats just hand the GOP its head?
John McCain was selected using the same media stories tactic and open primaries. He was the darling of the media during the primaries. Why was that? If we decide that who the media likes is the guy who is more likely to win... THEN WHAT THE HELL JUST HAPPENED?
Why let your enemy choose your leaders?
The ones the Democrats/RINO’s hate and rage about are the ones they fear!

To be honest, I think you are not making a whole lot of sense on that one.
Without Gov Palin, McCain would probably have lost as bad as Bob Dole did. The only reason why a lot of conservatives even voted for McCain at all, was because of Gov Palin.
Equally, the main reason why 4 million people less people, voted for McCain that they did for Bush in 2004, is because they couldn’t bring themselves to vote for a McCain, who had trashed and constantly ridiculed conservatives, for the entire 8 years of the Bush administration, even while doing whatever he could to frustrate the president, and paling around with Whiskey Ted Kennedy.
Lets not forget that McCain actually voted AGAINST the Bush tax cuts, was the High Priest of amnesty, and the Chieftain of the gang of 14, not to mention McCain-Fiengold.
Why on earth would any conservatives even bite for such a guy at all, without Gov Palin on the ticket?
Of course Gov Palin is going to be a very strong contender not just for the Republican nomination in 2012, but for the presidency itself,. Id say she has a very strong chance of becoming President in 2012.
Why do you think the deranged MSM have launched an all out smear campaign against her AFTER the elections?
We need to form a focused unified strategy and message for 12. I am not really all that bright but we need to get those that are to help form a cogent message and keep slamming the press (boycott, I am not watching any more news programs and boycotting any thing I find out is advertised on MSNBC)to discredit them. We need to start reminding people Cater bailed out the auto industry in 1976, Obama is following the failed policies of the past.
“The media did an effective job of destroying her to the 63 million that voted for Obama. “
******
How many of those “63 million” were fake ACORN voters that voted early and often?
Those who voted for Obama were not voting against Gov Palin. They were voting against the party that was in power when the stock market crashed, just like it’s happened in every country including this country, whenever the stock market crashes sharply like that.
Remember 1929, and the subsequent elections that brought in FDR to power?
“Those folks think she is a dumb hick from Alaska”
*******
57 million voters think she was the best thing in these elections. The huge excited crowds on campiagn stops thought she was the best thing in these elections. The record TV ratings for her RNC speech, and the record ratings whenever she appeared on TV all said otherwise to what you are claiming.
She is ONE of our best hopes.
I also see Cantor, Pawlenty, Sandford, and Jindhal - NOT necessarily in that order.
The winks are nice but for Sarah to have a chance in 2012, she has to move from her superficial populism and develop a solid plan for rebuilding the nation that she clearly articulates.
Personally, I think Jindal is too young.
Cantor was pimping the bailout. I wouldn’t elect him dog catcher.
