I respect the office whether or not I respect the man in it.
The zero has yet to earn even his own side’s respect. He’s promised an awful awful lot to them.
The TRUE question should be “has or will the zero earn your respect and is the zero worthy of your vote” to those that voted for him.
He has a razor thin resume, bad associations, failed leftist ideology...
Give it a few months, but I already hear chants of ‘where’s my pie’ warming up in the background.
He’s got an enormous uphill road to convince me though.
My president will never be a marxist king.
He is the President - Elect of the country I live in, but as for him being “my” president, in that he holds the same values as I do, absolutely not. I will pray for him though.
If i was considering joining the military i wouldn't at this time.
No, and if I come into contact with him (as if, but whatever) I will turn my back on him.
And you can flame me all you want. This man is a fraud and as far as I’m concerned, not a President.
The repugnant, two faced, jug-eared, fetid puddle of effluent and marxist thug is unfortunately the president elect.
Does that answer your question?
He is the president elect and so shall be until Jan 20th 2009. I will respect the fact that he was elected and I will not do as many of the liberals have done to President George. W. Bush. I will not attack him unfairly and I will not disrespect him when he takes office.
I may not like the fact that Obama was elected POTUS but I will respect him.
He’s not my president first of all because I’m a foreigner, but the question remains and it is a very interesting one.
For all I loathe him (I am happily suffering an acute form of Palinitis), I would have to say yes, because I participated in the contest. I voted and by doing so accepted to lose.
The caveat is that there is excellent reason to believe that he broke the law in his campaign financing.
But what are the alternatives to loyal opposition, hard work, rugged conviction, healing wounds, and raging on with redoubled conviction?
Were Obama to put in place his internal army, the famous one with equal funding as the regular armed forces, then I would consider a New Republic (France is on number 5, my Italy is probably on N° 27). There comes a time even for that, but I’m not sure that preventive action is proper on the home front against a guy who won an election against an opponent who conceded defeat.
So, yes, not my president, but most unfortunately president of my country... and lots of vigilance.
No and hell no!.....There was to much damn fraud in his run to the white house for me to say he’s my president....Are you kidding? Just take a look at all the money he got from all over the world! It was all illegal!
The media never touched any of this! Yet, Sarah Palin can be dragged over the coals by the media for wardrobe charges to the taxpayer? Besides, he never explained his plans or anything in his run to the white house. How in hell do you elect anyone who doesn’t tell you what he’s going to do? This is a farce! The only time he said anything is when not behind a teleprompter and he slipped up with his comments like “spread the wealth”.
Are liberals really this stupid that they go so easily to socialism?
At this point all I can hope for is that he is a typical self serving politician only concerned with his legacy. On that point I’m hoping he’ll govern as a centrist.
Of course he will be. I’m a citizen of the U.S., and he’ll be the President. It will be his responsibility to be *my* representative.
Folks, I need your help. I am looking at becoming an ex-patriot in 2012 years if we don’t win. Where is the best place to retire to? I have been thinking about Australia but I hear that it is difficult to immigrate there as they actually are trying to keep out the Muslims and blacks so they just don’t let anyone in. Any other ideas?
Well, he’ll be THE president in January.
And he says he’ll be MY president. But I don’t really want him to try too hard to fill that role.
Obama will be the President of the United States. Period. It begins and ends there. It is not a question of my President or not my President. He heads the executive branch of the federal government. George Bush is not my President but President of U.S. Very important distinction which unfortunately most Americans do not get. It is often discussed whether someone is qualified to run the country. Even “conservatives” get into these discussions. President should not be running the country. They authority should be limited to running the executive branch of the federal government.
Do you consider Obama to be "Your President"?
Not yet. As others have said, he has not taken the Oath of Office.
Once he has, then yes. He will be my President. I'm an American. He holds the office. That's the way it works.
Doesn't mean that I can't work to fight his agenda. I have to respect the office, but I don't have to go along with every fool idea he tries to push.
I have disagreed vehemently with W. He was still my President. I sure as heck disagreed with Clinton. Didn't have much time for GWHB, either. I even had some pretty strong policy disagreements with Reagan from time to time. Doesn't mean any of them ever stopped being my President.
No, and i won’t accept him until he coughs up a birth certificate and answers the questions about his citizenship.
The same way Rev. Wright is my minister.
No due to known problems with ACORN I do not feel he was elected by legal voters of America thus he is not nor will he be the elected President of the USA. Remember “Selected not elected!” ;)
Is he even a citizen?
