My father was in the First World War, and got gassed (mustard gas). He died quite some time ago. My uncle (mother’s brother) was in the Second World War. He was killed in the Battle of Hertgen Forest. I remember seeing him in uniform once, as a small boy.

I didn’t see any action, because I enlisted between wars. But JFK extended my time in service by three months during the Berlin Air Lift—just to prove yet again to the Russians what a tough guy he was after that earlier demonstration of incompetence and cowardice.

That’s the part of all this Obama nonsense that my aunt (Daddy’s sister) is just floored by.. all the good men that have paid such a high price for this country to the point of giving their all. . . and she has voted Democrat a lot in her life. She’s 81 and voted for Clinton and still hasn’t connected the dots with their debauchery and socialism. Obama hit her really fast, and she was very concerned before the election. She said his mysterious “hold” over people was eerily reminescent of the newsreels she used to see of Hitlers rallies back during the war. She said he would promise the people the moon and they fell for it . . and the slogans, the slogans.
