It really doesn’t matter anyway. Proof of having been born in the U.S. is not needed to be President as long as there is no reasonable proof he was born someplace else.

Is there any law about this other than the original text of the Constitution? Most laws are written to correct some perceived error or injustice, so if no one has ever tried to be elected president with questionable citizenship, I could see that no one had ever spent time writing a law about it. The closest I can think of in recent history are Goldwater (who was born in Arizona Territory before it became a state) and McCain (born in the Canal Zone to two American parents). Both were covered by laws clearly stating the children are born citizens. No other job that President or VP requires a natural born citizen.
