We on the ground can do our part by writing letters to the editors. This may not seem like much, but if we can get two to four letters printed in our local newspapers on a weekly basis it will seem voluminous.
When criticizing Obama in public we should couch it such as and I thought he was going to be different,” or ‘he’s just another politician,’ ‘there’s not much difference between him and Bush.’ We can’t think that who we speak to is as politically acute as we are, speak in terms of demoralizing and devastating generalties.

We cannot depend upon our senators and congressmen to get down and dirty.

You and I are thinking strategically and that is what we need. I love your ideas. In the beginning we say it’s the same as GWB because that will sell (even to me LOL in some case) , but for really crappy stuff we say “That’s the same as Jimmy Carter’ or anyone that sells (poll test everything, every word). BC is probably not a good one to use because right now BC looks brilliant compared to GWB to most people.

I heard on the radio that the Obama campaign will be using the millions of email addresses they have to promote his position i.e. ask that letters be written to whomever.

I like this. This idea may be good enough to generate its own thread? Perhaps, we can get volunteers to "Adopt-A-Paper".

Two excellent ideas. That's how you change opinions, over time, and one at a time.

I like the idea of writing to the editor but we cannot contine to encourage the dumbing down of the electorate. We didn’t think he was going to be different and there is a ton of difference between him and Bush.

Why would lying be helpful?

At some point people are going to have to grow up.
