"Bobby"! Not just for the Kennedy's any more!
YouTube ^

Posted on 11/06/2008 10:21:00 PM PST by blueknight99

Just thought I'd post this interview Bobby Jindal had on "Late Night". It may have been posted before, but I think folks need to get to know this guy. So far, I'm very impressed with this guy.

Left-wing policies aside, this "Bobby" does seem to have the same appeal and charisma as the late Robert Kennedy. What do my fellow Freepers think?

I think he’s a pencil necked geek.

I also think he’s a great conservative, but his pencil neck will ensure his defeat by the LSM.

We need a pitbull...

He seems okay and so does Sarah. But right now, it seems the immediate task at hand is to find the correct party chair and give some backbone to the US Senate and House to fillibuster on core issues and to raise funds to save the ones who tow the party line’s seats and lining up the groups and internet base and organizing that will be needed when the next election is up. If you can’t get who is left to fillibuster and make a stance when needed, then more third parties will form since they will say there is no difference and we will be lucky to form a coaltion then to win anything. Let’s nip the third parties in bud now and give back bone and spirit to those in the House and Senate since they are going to face very soon within the next six months pressure to go along and sing around the campfire locked in bipartisan arms singing Kumbaya. And I am sure the Democratic camp is organized enough to turn up the heat even from their own districts. Heck, they copied freepers when they got hit in 94 with organization technique. Are you ready for this immediate challenge?

we sure will...
and i think someone with a superior intellect to Obama will be key in 2012...Palin has the charisma and the style but perhaps she hasn't developed the intellect yet to bruise the Obama brand...I could be wrong- I do think she is a bright person.
I just see Jindall the Rhodes scholar able to butcher the east coast chi town thug/ elitist.

It's too bad Bobby Jindal didn't get to give his speech at the Republican convention this year. That would have showcased his talents to the country. Darned hurricane.

“The talentless, unkilled Zero has the ongoing, MASSIVE advantage of heavy media cover.”

Yeah, that’s really the point. I remember, just after Palin had been introduced and McCain’s ratings went up, Zero began to deflate and shrink. It was quite amazing to see. He began to reappear during the smear campaign against Sarah, but really made a comeback after the financial crash.

What’s really annoying is that a solid conservative pundit like Laura Ingraham keeps saying that he ran “a brilliant campaign...I won’t deny it.” Well I deny it. Cindy McCain said it best: Zerobama ran the dirtiest campaign she had ever seen. Voter registration fraud; illegal and untraceable campaign financing; non-vetting by the press; non-release of school records or a birth certificate; legal intimidation of media outlets criticizing him; etc. Effective but not brilliant.

Anyway, I liked the clip with Jindal and certainly found him very impressive and likable. Judging by this clip, he’s more low-key than Sarahcuda, but has greater analytical/intellectual gifts. Loved it when he just offhand said “Well, my mom wanted to come to LSU to study nuclear physics...”

Can he be an inspiring leader to masses of people on the grand themes of freedom? prosperity? national security? Maybe. Probably. We’ll see.

I’m certain, however, about Sarah.

[By the way, as an afterthought, I think it’s about time that we bring Mark Steyn into the political process of the New Conservative Movement. Can you imagine a major campaign speech written by Steyn and delivered by Palin?]

I think I am tired of identity politics. I am tired of hearing about who is electable. I am tired of Conservatives being asked to compromise so we can have “a candidate that the moderates and Dems might like”. I am tired of people claiming to be Conservative yet not voting for or supporting Conservatives.

I am tired of the American Idol mentality and I am tired of choosing the lesser of two evils. I am tired of hearing about who looks Presidential, who has charisma and who is a good speaker. I am tired of never being able to go to the polls and vote for the best leader that will fight for Conservative ideas. I am tired of a party that will allow polls and pundits to select their nominee. I am tired of shallow talk that comes to nothing.

I’m with you, I really dig Jindal. I don’t know what left wing policies the guy above is talking about, but maybe I’m just not informed enough about his yet... but I’ve seen him interviewed at least 3-4 times and he sounds like one of the most articulate, intelligent, solidly conservative guys we have in the running for the party... I think he’d rock... Its Jindal for me too over palin, unless she really does some cramming and works on her unprepared speaking... i loved her, and think shes great, but no matter when she talked (aside from her first two public appearances) i was forced to keep my fingers crossed that she didn’t botch anything... i think with some work she could be a formidable candidate in 2012... i think a Jindal/Palin ticket would rock... or the other way around even....

“i was forced to keep my fingers crossed that she didn’t botch anything”

yeah I had that feeling before she said anything. She doesn’t need a harvard degree. She needs to be a FReeper and give you confidence that she’s knows what’s out there!

“If Palin was a man would you be with him?”

I was - his name was Ronald Reagan

I don’t remember Reagan saying stuff like:
HANNITY: Who is responsible for these failing institutions, in your view?

PALIN: I think the corruption on Wall Street — that is to blame. And that violation of the public trust. And that contract that should be inherent in corporations who are spending, investing other people’s money — the abuse of that is what has got to stop.

And it’s a matter, too, of some of these CEOs and top management people and shareholders too not holding that management accountable, being addicted to, we call it, OPM — O-P-M, “other people’s money.”

Spending that, investing that, not using the prudence that we expect of them. But here again, government has got to play an appropriate role in the stringent oversight, making sure that those abuses stop.

Hmmmm. Yes I see. Unkilled versus unskilled.

Can I get back to you on that?

The version with the error does have a certain..ahem.. appeal....

I absolutely love Jindal... But until we see how nutty the Obama admin is...I wouldn’t want to waste a run against Obama if he’s not a weakened Pres.
The good thing about the 24/7 news cycle...is the running for President starts as soon as the new one is sworn in. I’d like to see all of our potentials vetted early.

Yup....I could see Palin becoming ready for VP in four years. She knows the territory and what’s required now. Is she ready for the Presidency...NOOOO! Given her recorded gaffes, she’d have to work through the VP role to graduate to a possible Presidency. She;s a great lady, and I do admire her...but beyond canned stump speeches, she was NOT ready for primetime.
