From what I understand, in Ohio you were allowed to REGISTER and VOTE on the same day, so some invalid registrations and illegal votes almost certainly occurred. We just don’t know, since there are 200,000 new voters that the SOS does not want to verify eligibility. It is extremely odd that Obama won Ohio by about 200K votes, which is the same number of problem registrations.
Just like there are federal statutes establishing certain corrupt behavior on the part of state officials as federal crimes, there is a dire need for a federal anti-voting fraud statute that would federally criminalize behavior by state officials that aids and abets voting fraud in federal elections. The criminal statute should specifically include activities (or willful neglect of duties) such as what the Ohio Secretary of State was engaged in.
If these state bureaucrats knew they might very well be arrested and sent away for a while, they would take more care see to it that the electoral process was cleaned up.
Yes, I know that practically speaking the incoming Congress would never pass such a bill, but the GOP minority should propose bills like this and call the attention of the American public to this horrendous problem.
