As I said earlier I have some knowledge on this subject and states have had laws regulating access to "vital records" for a long time...long before anyone even heard of "identity theft".Yes,it could be true that Hawaii just recently changed their laws.In Massachusetts,for example,anyone can *still* walk into state offices and get a copy of *anyone's* vital record...except adoption records.No need to show ID or anything.Also,here,until a few years ago you could bring a Mass license plate number into any DMV office and get the owner's name and address.That stopped when it was learned that stalkers were using this method.I think it was after a woman was murdered.
Regardless of how Hawaii's laws read,osama's records should be open *at least* to the press and the RNC.
