On the morning after Tuesday's historic election, two political heavyweights in Pennsylvania politics offered their take -- each from his own party's perspective.
Senior senator Arlen Specter (R-Pa., top right) and governor Ed Rendell (D, bottom right) appeared before the Committee of 70's post-election breakfast to offer commentary on the presidential election.
Specter conceded that Republican John McCain's White House bid was hampered by the economy and an unpopular president.
He says president-elect Barack Obama is likely to reach across the aisle when he actually begins to govern:

We need to make sure that when he does, he pulls back a nub.

Asking either one to comment on the future of the Republican party is like asking a muslim to comment on the future of pork chops.
