I just advocated for Jindal on the Palin thread. I think the Republican party has to reach out to minorities and Asians are the perfect fit. Stable marriages, high respect for education, and they work hard. That is the blueprint for personal responsibility. The excellent book No Excuses about the racial gap in learning between blacks and whites makes the point that Asian parents do not think that either environmental factors or genetics are barriers to success. They expect all their children to work hard and get good grades. Lets reach out.
Plus Jindal is Catholic (I'm Protestant), and could reach that crucial block of swing voters.

As an American Asian myself, I couldn’t agree more. Asians are pretty traditional too,(George Takei notwithstanding). What Asians lack in numbers (as far as population goes), they make up in education, income and buying power.

Lets concentrate on the house and senate first and stop trying to force people into the white house. Jindal will run when and if he wants to.
You are right. He is his own man. I am proud to say I voted for him for governor. He is the best thing ever in Louisiana politics. He's super intelligent, ethical, articulate, and has high moral values and knows how to get things done. Unlike Michelle, I have always been proud to be an American but this IS the first time I can truly say I am proud to be from Louisiana, in regards to politics that is.

We need to formulate a strategy to reach out to Asians. Now how do we deliver the message to them? Once we are able to reach out to Asians, they could help us keep our majority in Texas and recapture Virginia from the Democrats.
