The gays are actually trying to sue to overturn the proposition because, they say, it’s a de facto “revision” not an amendment. A revision can only be voted on as a proposition if it is voted on by the general assembly to be placed on the ballot. Amendments can come either from the GA or by getting the requisite number of signatures to get it on the ballot.
