I think Shawn Hannity really is a conservative

I thought so too till he did his attack on Ron Paul in the following the GOP debates interviews. It was uncalled for. He would twist Paul's statements then run his yap yelling while Paul tried to defend himself. Paul thought we had better options in Iraq and so did I. We hugged Tar Baby getting bogged down in what should have been a war and military mission lasting about 12 months. Paul said try Letters or Marque and Reprisals. That simply means letting hired guns do it. The Constitution allows that option despite an Executive Order by Jerry Ford and Jimmy Carter saying otherwise.

Ron Paul has a far more Conservative history and record than Rudy. Rudy was the most liberal one running and Sean was supporting him. Being Mayor of NYC on 9/11 does not automatically make a person POTUS material. What you will never hear coming from Hannity is other Conservative congressmen shared Paul's concerns on a lot of issues. For example Tennessee Congressman John Duncan has been pretty outspoken on Bush's handling of Iraq along with other issues and Duncan is about as Conservative as they come. Duncan and Paul were among the few Republicans who had the guts to say NO on the bailout in all votes. The rest were too busy helping Bush help out Barney Frank.

What Hannity and Paul were arguing about IIRC was Paul saying our foreign policy in the M.E. was wrong. Well it is wrong and for decades has caused us grief. Paul understands what NEOCONs refuse to understand and what Reagan understood. There is no rational dealing with M.E. nations. Among our worse enemy in the M.E. we buy oil from and that is Saudi Arabia who had the majority of 911 hijackers I believe. Iraq had how many? None.

You do not stick your face in a rattlesnakes den and then blame the snake for biting you. It is a Rattlesnake and you put your head where it did not belong. It responeded as any Rattlesnake would. Trying to be the M.E. moderator or it's policeman, peace keeper, whatever, is about as insane as sticking your head in a Rattlesnake Den. You will get bit by the snakes. Learn about the snakes first and handle them accordingly. A Rattlesnake doesn't care that you are a human nor will it respect you as it respects no one. It is a snake and responds as such. That is basically the Paul M.E. doctorine. Makes sense to me.

Oh, for crying out lay off that talking point and read up on Al Qaeda, Sudan's al Tourabi and Iraq. If it helps look through jveritas' translations of Iraqi docs how idiotic the claim Iraq had nothing to do with al Qaeda and Zarqawi's al Tawhid is. It's not as if 9/11 was the only issue.

We have been under attack by a number of groups, some in part state sponsored, and 9/11 was just one of the strikes. Thankfully much of 9/11 didn't work for them- the British managed to disrupt what was planned for them and that cell was not necessarily made up of Saudis.

Using the "nationality of the peons on the plane" argument is just silly-- the leader was Atta the Egyptian. If bin Laden had sent Adam Gadahn instead of Atta should we have bombed orange county, California?

Before 9/11 France was hit by Algerians. We were almost hit in LA by an Algerian cell in late 1999 but the explosives were caught by an alert border guard. The failed Bojinka plot to blow up airliners over the Pacific was largely a JI Indonesian, Malaysian and Abu Sayyaf op. The Falls church cell involved numerous nationalities and several Iraqis. The bombing that killed a US sailor in the Philippines before 9/11 involved Abu Sayyaf and an Iraqi diplomat.

The terrorists don't think in terms of their nationalities as we do. They don't identify themselves that way but instead as members of groups like Muslim Brotherhood which are multinational.
