If there is anything we should have learned, it s that we should be very wary of unnamed sources. People in the McCain campaign may be trying to find a scapegoat as a way to protect their own reputation and reputation. In addition, supporters of other possible 2012 contenders may be trying to dampen enthusiasm for Governor Palin.

We all owe Governor Palin a debt for carring the fight to the opposition this year. We need her as a Republican leader, and we have plenty of time to evaluate her as a possible 2012 contender. At this time, we all need to remember Ronald Reagan’s eleventh commandment: “Thou shalt not speak ill of any fellow Republican.”

We need a big tent that includes lots of folks if we want to win elections. Our arguments among ourselves need to be over policy matters and need to avoid what often amounts to little more than petty name calling. And we certainly need to ignore anyone who, while claiming to be a Republican, anonymously speaks ill of any other Republican. If some accuser does not have the courage to speak openly and subject himself or herself to “cross examination,” then that accuser should be ignored.

I agree she will make a great spokesperson for the conservative wing of the party, other than that we will see.
