To believe this non-sense, you have to first believe the liberal argument - that it was not Reagan, but Gorbachev that brought down the Iron Curtain.

Since I don’t agree with that argument, I would chalk this one up to mercury boiling over on the kook meter.

This isn't nonsense! There's a good chance that Zhirinovsky is correct. Obama is the most dangerous man in the world now. You will come to know that. Oh and by the way Reagan didn't take down the Iron Curtain. It was Harry Truman, JKF, LBJ, Nixon, Ford, and a host of others who took down the Iron Curtain. Yes Reagan was important, very important. He deserves as much credit as anyone. It was a 50 year effort from many people.

The Russian believe that Gorbachev screwed the country, and for that they despise him.

I think it was a combination. Reagan’s greatness and Gorby’s incompetence. Oftentimes there is a historical foil to great individuals that allows them to achieve their objectives.

For instance, Alexander would not have been as mighty a conqueror had Darius been halfway qualified as a commander-in-chief.
