Here, I'll start.

One of my employees (salary under $30,000) said she doesn't expect Obama to keep his tax cut pledge and would be ok paying another $2,000 in taxes per year.

One other person declared that this campaign had nothing to do with race and was offended that anyone would make a suggestion that it was.

I got into a discourse with a friend of mine via text messages.

She started it with “just wanted 2 say...YES WE CAN!”

I replied with “...destroy the last remaining bastion of freedom left on earth. Hope you enjoy paying 60% taxes ‘cause I sure as hell won’t.”

To which I get this response: “At least the W. Bush presidential library won’t cost too much to build. Coloring books aren’t that expensive.”

I think I pissed her off when I replied “and the legacy for ‘The Messiah’ would be what? He got the job via affirmative action?” because then she turned it personal and told me to move to Texas because “[I’d] be around folks more full of shit than [me].” Nice, eh?

I had a black co-worker be very solicitous to me and then she said “I’m so glad that my 90 year old grandmother could see this—she went from not being able to vote to seeing a black man as president.” When I pointed out to her that her grandmother had ALWAYS been able to vote, her attitude changed and she got incredibly angry.

She was later making personal calls to her family saying she had tried to call them all night, but the phones were busy, just like on New Year’s Eve....

Wonder how long it will be before the bloom comes off the rose?

One of the old ladies where I work voted BO and I knew she did, so after he won, I asked her if she had ever heard of the Reverend Jerimiah Wright. She said yes. I said "you knew about him and you still voted for Obama? How could you do that? She said "I'm a Democrat". So I asked her "don't you ever think for yourself?", she says "I don't want to talk about it".

So there you have it. Being a Democrat means check your mind at the door, whatever the Party higher-ups tell you to do, you do. You never question, you never think.

I work at a major northeast state university. I wore black and informed all of my fellow faculty members that I would be available for gloating purposes for the rest of the week if they were unable to find any other Republicans.

One Associate Professor said, “Now the rest of the world will stop hating us.” My reply: And the big increase in business taxes will force companies to run more efficiently which will help with global warming.

Another full Professor remarked, “Now we can solve global warming.” I simply nodded my head while thinking what a fool this educated man was.

I work in a bank in Orange County, CA. Not a lot of foot traffic today, but those that came in were all very depressed. There was not a single happy person today.

Our eldest son called today and he had to meet with a Black man. The man was understandably overjoyed and said the following "Obama is gonna give me money!"( This is for real).

I assume he meant the $500 check Obama promised.

This one actually came close to making my head explode and blood shoot from my eyeballs. From a SMALL BUSINESS OWNER with several employees:

“I voted for Obama because he’s going to force insurance companies to accept pre-existing conditions. I have high blood pressure and have to pay for my own insurance.”

*bangs head against wall*

We’ve had various things said to household members. Our older children were accused of being racists because they weren’t for Obama. This has gone on for weeks though. Never mind that they could go to school elsewhere, and yet they attend schools that are 95%+ nonwhite.

One of our daughters was at work, and she is supervised by a young lady from Kenya. A gushy, squishy white liberal middle aged+ man came over to the Kenyan woman today for the first time EVER to talk to her about how wonderful it is that Obama was elected. The Kenyan female was quite unimpressed. She comes from the other side of Kenya and doesn’t think much of the people from the Obama family’s side of Kenya. heh.

And the most laughable thing that hubby saw today was his liberal coworkers swiping newspapers. It was no big deal that they were taking multiple copies of the FREE student newspapers. But two of his grown up coworkers (non students) stole newspapers from the newspaper boxes on campus. One guy paid for one and took two copies. Then another guy waited for someone else to buy a newspaper, and he grabbed the door before it closed. Then he stole four copies. So typical. (reminds me of our Obama-supporting niece who thinks we bombed Japan because they aren’t white and we didn’t nuke Germany because they are white. Anywho, she is known to steal toilet paper from the dorm where she used to work. She would take a role home with her to her apartment. She was quite proud of this frugality. It was a public university, after all. She also brags about using neighbors’ wireless networks instead of paying for her own. I could list her other crimes, but she minored in women’s studies, so she’s a really good person.)

Whew.

In my internet browsing, I come across all sorts of websites, and I love to check out the lefty ones. This one is on the fringe, and that thread takes the cake as far as this is concerned.

Though you might be surprised how many conservatives are on that board.

lol...easy. Just cut her pay by $4000 right now and tell her she's covering her portion and the portion you have to pay for her too.

Here is an e-mail I received from my very close Dutch friend. I did not even know where to start, there were so many inaccuracies!
Hokie Bird
*********************************
But let me climb on my soapbox for a minute and trigger hollow laughter, tears or disgust at your side (as I have done so to a couple of times last few weeks - sorry)

(switch on speech-mode)

As long as the USA is still the only superpower it has in ways an influence US people might not recognise at first hand. The USA has since WWI exported not only Capitalism as the economic system everybody should adhere to, but also the claimed the moral right to be the world's leader based on it democratic system, law, the ideal that every person can make it in America as long as you work hard - - - - in that way claiming to be the force of Good instead of Evil.

Under Bush that moral right crumbled tremendously:
- the prison Bush used in Cuba to not have to adhere to his own countries laws. That is not an action from the force of Good.
- invading Iraq pretending there where weapon's of mass destruction - which there were not. Helping Iraq getting rid of Saddam was good in itself, but Bush failed in giving it the right cause and fumbled big time afterwards.
- taxcuts for the rich: why? they already “made it”! Why not help the people wanting to make it? How is that in line with the country's ideal?
- Getting rid of the Taliban was good - but the execution afterwards was crippled because of Iraq. Did Bush never learn the lesson's the Russians did overhere?

Bush is now seen by the rest of the world more as Evil than Good. Which means that the USA is lagging on its claims on the moral right to be its leader. Bush gives the impression that the USA should be the world's leader because it is the most powerful. That aggrevates people around the world. Example: the BBC reported on a poll under Pakistan people.
30% or more supported Al Quada - not because of the political system it wants to imprint - but because it is the only group who has the guts to stand up against the USA!

Bush is seen as the “School Bully” and by choosing Obama the USA repairs a lot of that mental damage. It showes the world it is true to its ideals - that also a black man can make it to the very top in the USA.
In his image people can find hope that reason, law and the force of Good is again present in the White House. It will also be difficult for many who target the USA to claim on moral or religious grounds that Obama is the force of Evil. He was educated in a muslim school (and his middle name is muslim), which might be alienating Joe Sixpack, but takes away so much cultural gaps that it will do the USA good in the world.

It will mean that the USA can keep a great deal of its influence in the world, instead of letting it slide away and only able to support it with force. That will have positive effects in many other area's: not only the world's political situation, but also economical, technological and socially. And that will sooner or later reflect on your national situation as well.

It is on the long term so important to the USA and its allies in the Western World that I strongly feel that your nation made the right choice. As we say in Europe: the US people can choose between a conservative capitalist and a liberal capitalist. I don't think you will have to fear the socialist imprint we have seen overhere. Besides - nationalising your Fanny and Freddy was seen as a socialist action - and who did those?

Many of the real negative impacts of the socialists in NL of the 70’s and early 80’s has slowly been changed to better situations. It takes time but all in all it's not bad overhere. I myself would have been in deep poverty given my medical history for example, but for the socialist laws.

Enough for now, I wish you both strength and good luck the coming 4 or maybe even 8 years. Until Palin will rescue you...... :-P
