Think of the prodigal...when that son wanted to cash in and leave, the father let him. Sometimes, as much as it seems somehow wrong, we simply have to let people go and spread the light and news to those who are receptive.

Liked your post but want to quible with your parable example. The father in the prodigal son was constantly thinking about his missings son. He was always scanning the horizon for him, and while the son was still far off the father was running out to greet him.

There is no quibble...the father had to wait for the son to return to Him before He could run out to meet him. Should those in your circle experience a change of heart, BY ALL MEANS welcome them back! But, until then, we have to let them go. Letting them go is not the same thing as them being dead to you, as other posters have suggested. Grace waits for the opportunity to move with forgivness.

My point was that perhaps the Lord will place others in your path that you can have a great impact on. Prayerfully searching for God’s winds and following them is the best way to keep the ship on an even keel.
