Republican Norm Coleman has won a second term in the U.S. Senate, barely surviving a stiff challenge from ex-comedian Al Franken.
MINNEAPOLIS -- Republican Norm Coleman has won a second term in the U.S. Senate, surviving a stiff challenge from former comedian Al Franken.
Coleman squeaked past Franken by the narrowest of margins: a few hundred votes with nearly 2.9 million cast. The margin appeared certain to trigger an automatic recount.
If the margin holds up, Coleman would be among the fortunate Republicans who survived big gains by Democrats nationwide.

NOT
That is great news, and with only 750 votes.
Aw, s—+, everybody wanted another balding, foul mouthed, brain damaged Democrat in the Senate. Now we’ll have to wait.
When would this be made official?
What a crazy election, Stevens re-elected, Coleman as well, Dole sent packing, Bachman winning, Musgrave losing.
It shouldn’t have been that close. What are Minnesotans thinking, voting for Franken?
Will there be a runoff?
Don’t count out Franken in a recount. Anything can happen and, with Democrats, probably will.
If you think the hatemonger & piss-poor excuse for a human being is going to just give a concession speech and quietly go away, guess again. The very fact people actually voted to put a Jewish version of Hitler in office makes me realize my country is truly gone.
Hey we voted Jesse The Mind Ventura as governor
This is probably the best news in an otherwise bad election. I hope and pray Coleman wins the recount. The last thing we need is the unfunny, Marxist clown in the Senate.
Franken is an atheist
Is this for certain? The last I saw, the spread was only about 600 votes. I would expect Franken to ask for recounts until he gets one that has him in the lead.
Thank Bush and the idiots he appointed at the GOP ,Ensign head of the RNSC, and Lee the idiot over the RNCC for poor strategy and fund raising.
no, there is no runoff in MN. Just an automatic recount if the margin is within 1/2 %.
yep we voted for jesse-
And he gave us Barkley!- my wife
voted for him!- he took 430,000 votes!
I think Coleman would have been more secure if Barkley
had not run. An auto recount will decide for sure.
LOL....you're right....very disappointing...
We need to put conservatives in their place.
unfortunately Coleman doesn’t even come close .. he is a Rino’s Rino
