I’ll probably get flamed for this, but I think either Giuliani or Romney win this election easily. McCain was a horrible speaker and slow on his feet in debates and on the stump. Giuliani certainly would’ve carved up Obama in debates and is a political brawler from having grown up in the New York media market. Romney would’ve brought credibility on the economy where McCain had nothing.

I and a lot of other FReepers opposed Giuliani early but after several months of McCain the advantages of Rudy were obvious. Whenever he spoke, he had much more fight in him. McCain told us to fight. Giuliani fought. Big difference.

I do agree that Rudy or Romney would have carved up Obama in the debates, but in the end it was only 3-4%. If the Wright ads had started running after Obama accepted or just before the convention, we would have won by 10-15%. There was so much opposition research, even in the Corsi and Feddoso books, that just wasnt used. In 2004 the SBVFT started running their ads in April. Anyway the Senate can filibuster anything ridiculous.

I don’t think anyone had a chance against Obama. He had too much going for him good or ill. This is something conservatives must wade through. Americans have become soft, stupid and dependent. It’s time for a little hardship. It will come under an Obama administration.

Romney would have been seen as the one of the greedy Wall St. sharks and lost by a greater margin than McCain. Guiliani, the base would have stayed home in greater numbers than they did even with McCain. Huckabee, is the one I am thinking, in hindsight that could have destroyed Obama.

Huckabee would have been all sugary sweet to Obama and when Obama turned his back Huckabee would have stuck the knife in and twisted. Huckabee resonated with the American people. He is the only one in hindsight I can think of that could have beaten Obama.
