I agree with you totally. The best thing those of us who understand this can do is to hide in the shelter of our faith, pray for those in authority over us and to live our lives as best we can with what is left to us after the looting takes place. No nation can survive when it’s own government becomes the “plunderer.” We will see whether President Obama understands this and whether the people surrounding him are so drunk with power that they do not care, really, what the consequences of their action might be, say, 10 years down the road. I think the most likely outcome of such action will be that another nation will conquer the US and we will not exist anymore as America. “Life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness,” is what America offered to those courageous enough to believe and live it. Now, many fear that such an opportunity will be handpicked by those who govern. Did you know that almost everyone elected to Congress becomes a millionaire in a short amount of time? And, even though some may stay only two years, they have a fat retirement for the rest of their lives. This is a travesty and a crime against the taxpayer. A retirement check should require at least 10-20 years of service. I grieve as I recognize the signs of the times..Look at ancient Rome..The road we are on is illustrated in that bit of history.

The irony with everything that you said is that, despite my mostly pessimistic comments and mostly negative venting here on FR as well as my visits to other political blogs almost everyday, that’s exactly what I do, because working and living in Massachusetts is very depressing enough for all conservatives who still remain in Massachusetts today. Also, witnessing “Chicago politics” soon to be going national and witnessing “Massachusetts politics” soon to be going national only adds to my depression, probably for the rest of my life. Conservatism really has been dead throughout Massachusetts for over fifty years now and counting, and most present GOP members and most present office holders in Massachusetts well as most past GOP members and most past office holders from within Massachusetts were and are “leftist” Republicans. So, when I say that it’s all over for both Republicans at every political level and “U.S. conservatism” at every political level, I’m really not kidding anyone. It’s really over, but it will take many more future elections before most conservatives even get to the point where they will also see for themselves that it’s really over. But, win or lose, many conservatives will always keep fighting for any kind of political openings that can help boost conservatism.
