You know, I am searching for a reason as to why McCain lost and I think I've come up with it in one word:

WOMEN.

Out of all the people I've talked to this election season, it is the one group that I have seen that IS MORE EXCITED THAN ANY at the prospect of having BO as president. Sure the youth vote for him on large margins, but for historically at the polling booth don't materialize in large numbers.

Women hate George W. Bush even more than men. Women, especially Single women love Social programs. They love Free Health Care and they love that someone other than the man that knocked them up can take care of their children. I think a good 40 percent of women are solid, don't get me wrong. It's that squishy 60 percent that we have to worry about. When the numbers are revealed, McCain will lose big in this Demographic. That's the clincher for Obama. Bush had appeal to Christian Women and that is why he hung tough both times. McCain lacks this appeal and I am sorry, people will hate me for saying it, but MOST WOMEN HATE SARAH PALIN. That's a fact and the reason why is because MOST MEN LIKE HER. She's prettier and smarter and more successful than they are. Sorry, but there exists a great number of women who don't like the prom queen. That's what Palin represents. Women are catty like that.

It didn't matter that Obama was a total mysogynist in the primaries... He is promising them the goodies including surrender in Iraq which is what they want.

“You know, I am searching for a reason as to why McCain lost and I think I’ve come up with it in one word: WOMEN.”

AMEN. I talked to a FL early voter today (before the polls closed.) She owns a small, upscale facial salon. Her family split on sex lines - women for BHO, men for McPalin.

She greeted me with, “At least a Democratic President with a Democratic Congress will get something done.” When I said that that was what I was afraid of — and mentioned BHO’s tax policies & likely increased unemployment — she looked startled. (As I am also a woman, she appeared to believe I’d be like-minded.) She’d given no thought to the potential damage to her business.

She made it plain that she voted BHO because she was mad at Bush, for whom she voted both times. (As she & many here believe, it is a tragedy that it was GW & not Jeb who became Pres.) She also mentioned that she didn’t like Sarah. Absolutely no mention of McCain.

My family & I have spoken to any number of women for whom it is gospel that Sarah is a moron. (A beautiful, pro-life governor with 5 kids - & still married to her high school sweetheart - is more than most women can embrace, even if they work outside the home.) Likely they feel the same about Cindy McCain. (Heck, I’ve heard male libs rail ag. McCain for “getting” Cindy & having her allegedly pay for his first race.) No such threat w/sourpuss Michelle O. There’s a reason Oprah is so popular. My mother, one daughter, a female JAG officer and I are the only ones I know who love Sarah.
