That can’t possibly be true. If it is, then 15-20% of Republicans must have gone for Obama, which I highly doubt.
Well, independents, new voters, and some smaller number of Republicans did vote for Obama. That is how you get a discrepancy despite a 15-20% Democrat vote for McCain.
New voters really turned out. Republicans and independents were wowed enough to vote for O.
