Even with 99 freepers voting McCain versus 1 for Ron Paul, Obama still won!

Impeachment proceedings begin on January 21, 2009.
Meanwhile, buy guns and ammo while you still legally can.

That man is not my president, no matter what the outcome. He stole the nomination from Clinton and he’s lied his way through this entire campaign. He is NOT my president.

Yeah, it’s over. Socialism won. Amazing. Never thought I would see the day...still don’t understand it...but it has happened.

I don’t intend to lose gracefully. I’m going to blame everything for the next four years on Obama because he hates the white man. I’m going to be loud and abrasive and a pain in their butts, just like they were to Bush.

I wish Jim would turn off vanity posting for a few hours and give us all a break from this BS while we wait for all the real votes to be counted.

Good post. Obama is a lot of things, but he’s not a moron. I don’t think he’s going to pull a Clinton and run to the left. I think we can at least drag him to the center. If not, he could lose his allies in Congress in two years and his office in four. Either way there is room for us to maneuver.
We have to play the game now, and the stakes are WAY too high for all of us to not play it. JMO.

while we wait for all the real votes to be counted. I know what you mean. I'll lose gracefully once they're all counted and done. In the mean time, I'll hold out hope for the future of this country.

Madame President must be relishing the huge amounts of power that she’s come into. Of all those who are cheering tonight, it is Nancy Pelosi who will be cheering the loudest. Since the political lightweight Obama hasn’t had the time (or need) to amass the influence he’ll need to get anything done, he will instead be a big rubber stamp for everything Nancy wants.
Expect an early federal action - Authorizing married gay couples to file as married on their taxes. Ahh, such a liberating time to live in.. Can’t wait for all the education we’ll get over the next four years about how completely and absolutely wrong we all are.
But as for the doom and gloom folks? Eh, we still have a couple ponies in the race, and an economy that’s taken a big beating from liberal policies. Aside from social actions, there’s not a whole lot for the left to play around with. Oh, that, and replacing their liberal judges with a new generation. *sigh*

My advice is to not worry about your country for the next two years.....because there is nothing that can be done about it.
My advice is to worry about your party for the next two years. Until you can get your party back...there is not much else you can do.
The RINO moderates have been angling to get a mavericky media-beloved candidate. They got it. Now their strategery has been tried.
Here is some history....
Reagan 80 - won by being a cheerful conservative
Reagan 84 - won by continuing to be a cheerful conservative
Bush 88 - won by promising to carry on with it..no new taxes
Bush 92 - lost by failing to carry on with it
Clinton 92 - won by pretending to be a conservative
Dole 96 - good man but "its his turn" is not a good idea
Gingrich - won by promising conservative contract
Clinton 96 - had to "triangulate" against his own party
Lost Congress - lost it by not keeping conservative contract
Bush 2000 - won by professing conservatism
Bush 2004 - won on conservative foreign policy at least
McCain 2008 - has probably lost...because he is not a conservative and couldn't hold Bush counties.
There is a pattern here.
